Your files.
A clear explanation.

WhimRoom’s file tools process the locations and tasks you choose on your PC. An optional assistant connection can share requested results with the assistant you connect.

Release preparation · 31 October 2026
This summary describes WhimRoom 0.266. Public controller/contact identification and the final support-retention notice are still being completed before Microsoft Store submission. This page does not claim that the Store release or its publisher verification is complete.

Local processing

This build has no WhimRoom account, advertising, analytics-upload or crash-upload service. Scans inspect paths, sizes, times and filesystem metadata. Matching, document, archive, backup and transfer tasks can also read file contents when required for the task.

PDF reading, OCR and document categorization use bundled local workers and models. Requested exports and saved results are written to the locations you choose.

What stays on the PC

Settings, operation records, scan history, resumable transfers and an optional search index may be saved locally. Depending on the task, records can contain names, paths, dates, hashes, rules, errors and destination details. Ordinary receipts, exports, verified backups and the optional index are not automatically encrypted.

The current app retains compatibility with its existing SpacePilot data directory. Review the bundled notice for exact storage paths, protected records and workflow-specific retention. Removing an indexed location removes search records; it is not a promise of secure erasure from SQLite pages, journals or backups.

Optional assistant connections

MCP runs locally over the configured client’s standard input/output and opens no network listener. A connected assistant can receive paths, metadata, hashes, analysis results and, through explicit document tools, extracted text.

Once returned to a client, these results may be processed or retained by its provider under that provider’s policies. Approved folders limit file workflows; separate system-inventory tools can expose application and startup metadata. Interactive file changes require native review.

Cloud, network and Windows services

When working in a Windows-connected cloud folder or network drive, reading or writing files can involve the storage provider. Windows, Microsoft Store and third-party applications have their own privacy policies. A Store update check is a separate user action and does not transmit personal file contents through WhimRoom.

Contacting support

If you email hello@copperwhim.com, the message and any attachments pass through the configured email routing and mailbox providers. Include only the information needed for your request. In-app local processing does not mean support emails stay on your PC.

About this website

These WhimRoom pages use locally served fonts and images. Their custom code contains no analytics, advertising trackers, enquiry form, cookies or local-storage preferences. Hosting and security infrastructure still process connection information needed to deliver the pages. See the Copperwhim website notice for the site’s current hosting information.
